![]() ![]() Kind of annoying that a brand new vehicle doesn't implement a technology that's several years old. I talked with Homelink yesterday about it and they are sending me the repeater for $7.00 shipped. Once again, thank you for your email and please let me know should you have any additional concerns. Please review the information found on the website I have provided to you. There is a device that can be purchased that allows the new garage door openers to work with our current mirrors. We expect to have these new mirrors approved for some 2014 model year vehicles and all models by 2015 model year. Download Manual The repeater will only work with Chamberlain, LiftMaster and Craftsman openers. The HomeLink Repeater will receive any HomeLink 310MHz, D Rolling Code transmission, validate the code, and then translate the HomeLink 'D' Rolling Code to a Chamberlain E Rolling Code and transmit at 390MHz. LiftMaster 855LM Homelink Compatibility Bridge / Repeater kit May be needed if you are unable to program a HomeLink system to a new Security+ 2.0. We are currently working on updating our HOMELINK mirrors to work with the latest garage door openers that operate at a higher frequency than our current HOMELINK mirrors can support. That will reset the homelink and wipe out any programmed spots. and I am sorry to learn that your email was prompted by your dissatisfaction with the operation of the Homelink feature in your new 2013 Subaru Outback. "Thank you for taking the time to contact Subaru of America, Inc. Looks like they will start rolling out the newer Homelink version for some 2014 and then hopefully all 2015 models. So if you're having issues.and you have an older GDO.the problem is probably the incompatibility of the operating frequencies.I received an email from Subaru this morning. When I purchased my 2013 operates on the newer 2.0 frequency so I didn't have to use the REPEATER's remote to program the car's HOMELINK.I could simply use the GDOs original remote. Everything worked perfectly with the repeater.all that was needed was to program the remote that came with the repeater (instead of the remote that came with the GDO) to get things working. So in order to get my e38 & e53 (still owned them both at the time) would not operate the new GDO so I had to purchase a HOMELINK REPPEATER. Product Description HomeLink Compatibility Bridge Kit (previously known as HomeLink Repeater) is exactly what your Customers may need to connect their HomeLink. ![]() Then around 2012, my GDO needed to be replaced and at that time, the frequency had changed. The homelinks in my e38/e39/e53 worked perfectly with that GDO. I purchased my GDO in December 1991 because the GDO rolling code frequencies were going to change in 1992. For some vehicles, a Compatibility Bridge is needed to properly program the HomeLink system to our full line of products. I went through this when I built my home in 1992. CONNECT YOUR CAR AND HOME WITH HOMELINK AND LIFTMASTER HomeLink offers seamless and convenient integration to control your LiftMaster Garage Door Openers and Gate Operators. If the above scenario is your case.then you'll need to buy a HOMELINK REPEATER (bridge) that allows communication between these components that are operating on different frequencies. The last change took place sometime around 2010/2011.so if you have a few specific GDOs (garage door openers) and a newer BMW.the HOMELINK in your car may be operating on the updated 2.0 frequency where as your GDO is operating on the older frequency. This product may require adjustments to door springs and/or track configurations. It was mentioned a few posts above.but the frequency used to operate garage doors has changed multiple times over the years.
